Matilda (aka Toots) & Tobi – The Border Collie Duo

Across the road from Peggy, Ruby, and Molly lives a lively family on a small hobby farm – home to two high-energy Border Collie pups: Matilda (aka Toots), a black-and-white whirlwind of brains and bravery, and her tri-coloured littermate Tobi, a loveable goofball with boundless energy.

From the moment Molly arrived, the pups adopted him as one of their own. To them, Molly isn’t a magpie at all – he’s simply another pup in the pack! His wings are just a bonus, making him the star of their favourite sport: Molly’s flying stunts. The pups are his biggest cheer squad, often daring him to soar higher, flip faster, and try bolder tricks… sometimes with hilariously chaotic results.

Matilda (aka Toots)

Toots is the older twin (by 3 minutes) and the perfect counterbalance to her excitable sister, Tobi. Where Tobi zips around chasing anything that moves, Toots takes life in stride—laid back, calm, and always three steps ahead. She’s confident, sharp-minded, and known for her razor-dry sense of humour. Within the group, Toots is the one everyone turns to when they need sound advice (or a sarcastic one-liner).

She rarely gets flustered, and her steady presence keeps the chaos in check. Of course, her sister’s antics don’t escape her notice—Toots can often be found rolling her eyes as Tobi bounces into yet another distraction. Still, beneath the playful exasperation, the bond between the two is undeniable. Toots and Tobi might be opposites, but together they’re an unstoppable pair—brains and energy, wit and whimsy, always side by side.

JANE HALL

One of Australia’s most respected actors, Jane Hall’s career has spanned film, television and theatre for more than 30 years having made her television debut in the much-loved Australian series THE HENDERSON KIDS.

Jane can currently be seen in the NBCU/Peacock series APPLES NEVER FALL alongside Annette Bening, Sam Neill and Alison Brie. She most recently voiced the role of Rusty’s Mum in the popular ABC kids’ series BLUEY and co-hosted a couple of episodes of LUXURY ESCAPES: THE WORLD’S BEST HOLIDAYS for Foxtel.

Jane was most recently seen in the critically acclaimed Foxtel drama series WENTWORTH, the ABC series FRAYED, the Nine Network drama series HALIFAX: RETRIBUTION, the ABC’s ESCAPE FROM THE CITY and Network Ten’s long running series NEIGHBOURS. Her other television credits include SISTERS, NEWTON’S LAW, OPEN SLATHER, TRUE STORY WITH HAMISH AND ANDY, HOUSE HUSBANDS, THE STARTER WIFE, THE SECRET LIFE OF US, MARSHALL LAW, ALL TOGETHER NOW and A COUNTRY PRACTICE. She has also made regular appearances as a co-host on THE CIRCLE, THE PROJECT and ROVE.

Between 2012-2014, Jane presented the breakfast radio shift and 3PM Pick Up shows CHRISSIE & JANE on Mix 101.1 in Melbourne with Chrissie Swan. In 2015 the networked rebranded as KIIS 101.1 and Jane once again was part of the breakfast radio show, this time with Matt Tilley, for their flagship program MATT & JANE in Melbourne.

Jane’s film credits include roles in RAZZLE DAZZLE, THE NUGGET and CODE 11-14 and her theatre credits include SECRET BRIDESMAID’S BUSINESS, MUM’S THE WORLD and its sequel, MUM’S THE WORD 2: TEENAGERS.

Tobi

Tobi is the younger twin of Matilda—but don’t be fooled into thinking they’re the same! Where Matilda keeps her cool, Tobi is a whirlwind of energy, bouncing from one distraction to the next. A leaf blows by? She’s on it. But underneath all that hyper energy is a heart that just wants love.

Tobi can’t stand being left out—whether it’s an adventure, a joke, or even just a nap. She needs to be right in the middle of the action, and if you leave her alone too long, expect the full force of her separation anxiety to kick in. Quick-witted, sharp-tongued, and hilariously needy, Tobi brings a mix of chaos and charm to every moment. While Matilda is the steady thinker, Tobi is the excitable spark—together, they’re the perfect comedic duo.
