Terry

Terry is one of life’s old souls — calm, wise, and endlessly laid-back. With a deep connection to the land and sea, he embodies the spirit of Australia’s natural world. As a gentle storyteller, Terry shares ancient Indigenous Dreamtime stories with the Peggy and Molly gang, often gathering under the stars at Wells Beach to pass on the wisdom of the ancestors.

When he’s not teaching, Terry can be found riding the waves, his shell gliding effortlessly through the surf. Ever the mentor, he carries Molly, Ruby, and Peggy on his back like a living surfboard, offering lessons in both riding waves and navigating life. With his chilled-out mantra of “Cowabunga, surf dogs!”, Terry is both a friend and guide, blending fun, wisdom, and a love for the ocean into every adventure.

CLARENCE HART

Clarence Hart III has dedicated more than four decades entertaining audiences as a vocalist, musician, and songwriter, captivating crowds in Australia and abroad. His rich baritone voice brings the character of Terry the Turtle to life, sharing wisdom and warmth through stories and song. Notably, Clarence composed the theme song for Peggy and Molly – The Animated Series, inspired after a performance one evening.

Through his music, Clarence actively supports charitable causes and community groups, lending his talents to fundraising events for organisations like The Queensland Cancer Council – Relay for Life, Canteen, Aruma (formerly The House with No Steps), and various Country Music Clubs. His achievements include being named The Queensland Country Music Champion of Champions – Masters Male Vocal in 2015 and performing at the sold-out Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Senior Cabaret Gala, organised by Epiphany Productions in 2025.

In addition to his musical career, Clarence works full time as a secondary teacher, specialising in Senior Mathematics and Science for more than 30 years. He served as the Learning and Teaching Leader – Mathematics (Head of Mathematics) for nine years at his current College. Teaching is a passion that has been his life’s work and Clarence will continue to teach by sharing Terry’s wisdom to future generations.

Finally, Clarence is deeply proud of his indigenous heritage and is recognised as an elder amongst his Izo family members. He brings personal cultural insights and respect to indigenous cultures, both within Australia and globally.
